내가 궁핍하므로 말하는 것이 아니니라 어떠한 형편에든지 나는 자족하기를 배웠노니 나는 비천에 처할 줄도 알고 풍부에 처할 줄도 알아 모든 일 곧 배부름과 배고픔과 풍부와 궁핍에도 처할 줄 아는 일체의 비결을 배웠노라 내게 능력 주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라
It’s easy to be content when life is going your way. It’s easy to be satisfied when the coffers are full and your funds are plentiful. But when things get tough, when the bills need to be paid, the car breaks down, and a child or a spouse needs to go to the doctor, then it’s more difficult to be contented.
The Apostle Paul had certainly learned these principles as he traveled on his journeys throughout the Middle East. Paul was a tent maker and he was single, but I’m certain that his funds collected from mending tents and making them, left him little for things on the road. But there was always a meal at some point along the way. There was always a place to lay his head down, even if it was on a dirt floor, or a sandy beach somewhere. I’m sure that other saints welcomed him into their homes and gave him food and drink.
삶이 당신 생각하는대로 갈땐,, 만족하긴 쉽습니다. 금고가 가득하고,, 당신자금이 풍부할땐 만족하기가 쉽습니다. 하지만 일이 힘들 때,, 지불해야 할 청구서가 있을 때,, 차가 고장 날 때,, 아이나, 혹은 배우자가 병원에 가야할때,, 그때 는 만족하기가 더 어렵습니다. 사도바울은 분명히 배워알았습니다,, 이러한 원리들을,, 그가 중동 전체를 다니는 그의 전도여행길에서. 바울은 천막을 만드는 사람이었고,, 독신이었습니다, 하지만 나는 확신컨데,, 이러한 자금,, 천막을 수선하고,, 그것들을 만들므로서,, 얻은,, 그것이 그 여행길에서 거의 없었습니다. 하지만 언제나 그 여정길, 어디에선가는,, 한끼 음식이 있었습니다. 언제나,, 머리뉘울 곳이 있었습니다,, 심지어,,그 곳이 먼지바닥위일찌라도, 혹은 해변가 어디일찌라도. 나는 확신컨데,, 다른 성도들이 그를 그들 집으로 맞아들여,,, 그에게 음식과 마실것을 주었으리라고.
There was a time in the past where he most likely had more of his physical needs met as he studied and met with others in the city. But now he had a different master. It was the one who spoke to him on the Road to Damascus. He had a new mandate to fulfill, and he was zealous and filled with the knowledge and wisdom from the Holy Spirit to fulfill this task.
과거에 한 때가 있었습니다,, 그때,,그가 아주 육체적으로,, 더 곤궁했던 때가,, 그가 그 도시에서 연구하며,, 다른이들을 만났을 때에. 하지만 이제 그는 다른 주인을 가졌더랬습니다. 그에게 다마스크로 가는길에서,, 그에게 말했던 그분이었습니다. 그는 한 새로운 완수해야 할 위임받은 명령이 있었습니다, 그는 열열히, 이 임무를 완수하기 위해, 성령으로부터 받은 지식과 지혜로 가득했습니다.
Many of us have had to live with scarcity. Many have lost jobs or some financial catastrophe has forced them to live in ways that the affluent have no idea of. Our world can close in very quickly on us because of a myriad of different expenses that need to be paid, and the responsibilities that we face. We know that we serve a faithful God who will meet our needs more than what we may ask or think. He is creative and He does things in creative ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts, nor are His ways our ways.
우리중 많은이는 곤궁하게 살아왔으야 했습니다. 많은이는 직장을 잃었고, 혹은 금전적 재앙으로,, 유복한 이들은 상상할수 없는 방식으로 살았으야 했습니다. 우리 세상은 아주 신속하게 우리를 조여올수 있습니다,, 수만의 다른 치러야 하는 비용들때문에,, 그리고 우리가 맞부딪치는 그 책임들 때문에. 우리는 앎니다,, 우리가 신실한 한 신,, 우리의 필요를 우리가 요구하거나 혹은 생각할수 있는 것 이상으로, 충족시키시는. 그분은 창조적이십니다, 그분은 창조적인 방법으로 일들을 행하십니다. 그분의 생각은 우리의 생각과는 다르고,, 그분의 방법은 우리의 방법과는 다릅니다.
And yet, contentment is the key. It seems that living a simple way where one can live with less can teach one wisdom. There is nothing wrong with wealth unless the wealth controls the person. It’s the “love of money” rather than the money itself that is the issue.
Of course people need basic necessities to survive, and oftentimes one confuses a need with a want. A used car or truck that gets one from one to another can provide the means rather than a Lexus or a Mercedes. And yet God wants to bless His people, but in what ways? Certainly as He provides for us, He also wants us to thrive and to be in good health.
그렇지만,, 자족함이 그 해결열쇠입니다. 덜 가지고서 살수 있는 단순한 삶이 사람에게 지혜를 가르쳐줄수 있습니다. 부함이 잘못은 아닙니다,, 그 부가 그 사람을 조종하지 않는 한. 문제는 " 돈을 사랑함" 입니다, 돈 그 자체가 문제라기보단.
물론 사람들은 생계를 위해 기본적인 것이 필요합니다, 때때로,, 사람들은 필요한것과,,부족을 혼돈합니다. 중고차나, 혹은 짐차,,사람을,, 여기에서 저기로 실으다 주는,, 그런것은 수단이 될수 있습니다,, 렉스스나, 혹은 메세데스 여야 하기보단. 그렇지만 하나님은 그분의 백성을 축복하기 원하십니다, 하지만 어떤방식으로 ? 확실히 그분이 우리에게 공급하시는 것처럼, 그분은 또한 우리가 번성하고,, 건강하길 원하십니다.

Learn the act of contentment, no matter what is going on in your circumstances. He can turn those circumstances around as you place your trust in Him.
자족하는 행위를 배우십시오, 당신생활 사정속에서 어떤일이 있던.. 그분이 그러한 사정들을 바꿔놓을 수 있습니다,, 당신이 당신믿음을 그분에게 둘때에...
